Pickleball in Anaheim, California

Anaheim Tennis and Pickleball Center is the city's main destination for organized play, lessons, leagues, and court reservations. The center has 10 lighted outdoor pickleball courts and runs sessions for players from beginner through advanced levels. Twila Reid Park provides a free public option with three outdoor courts.

Beginners can take a $25 clinic at the tennis center. Solo visitors can join one of its level based open play sessions. Anaheim also runs four adult league seasons each year at East Anaheim Gymnasium.

Where Anaheim Players Go

• Anaheim Tennis and Pickleball Center, 975 S. State College Boulevard. The center has 10 lighted outdoor pickleball courts, reservations, organized open play, clinics, private instruction, leagues, and equipment rentals. Open play costs $15 in the morning and $20 in the afternoon or evening for nonmembers. Members do not pay an added open play fee. Choose an open play session or clinic.
• Twila Reid Park, 3100 W. Orange Avenue. The park has three permanent outdoor pickleball courts with lights. Court use is free, and players bring their own paddles and balls. The park is open daily from 5:00 AM to 10:30 PM. There is no fixed organized play schedule, so bring partners or arrange a game before arriving. Get park hours and directions.
• East Anaheim Gymnasium, 8165 E. Santa Ana Canyon Road. The city uses this indoor gym for adult leagues and older adult pickleball. Gym hours are Monday through Friday from 9:00 AM to 8:00 PM, Saturday from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, and Sunday from noon to 5:00 PM. Pickleball is available only during scheduled programs. Starting Pickleball in Anaheim

New players can begin with the Anaheim Tennis and Pickleball Center beginner clinic. Clinics run Tuesday from 6:30 to 7:30 PM and Saturday from 9:00 to 10:00 AM. The fee is $25 per player. Instruction covers rules, scoring, paddle skills, and basic play.

Open Play and City Leagues

The tennis center separates recurring open play by level. Advanced 4.0 and higher play runs Monday from 6:30 to 9:30 PM and Wednesday and Friday from 8:00 to 11:00 AM. The 3.5 and higher sessions run Tuesday and Thursday from 8:00 to 11:00 AM and also Wednesday and Friday from 8:00 to 11:00 AM.

Players rated 2.5 to 3.5 can join Tuesday and Thursday from 8:00 to 11:00 AM, Monday from 4:00 to 6:00 PM, or Wednesday from 5:30 to 8:00 PM. Friday open play from 7:00 to 9:30 PM welcomes levels 2.5 through 4.0 and higher, with a challenge court for advanced players.

Anaheim's adult doubles leagues play Thursday nights at East Anaheim Gymnasium. The city offers winter, spring, summer, and fall seasons, with at least eight or 10 matches plus playoffs. Planning a Game in Anaheim

Solo visitors can use the organized open play at Anaheim Tennis and Pickleball Center. Choose the session that matches your rating, pay the $15 morning fee or $20 afternoon and evening fee, and enter the group rotation without bringing a partner. Friday from 7:00 to 9:30 PM covers the widest range of levels.

Visitors with partners can reserve a court at the tennis center or use the free courts at Twila Reid Park. The park is open from 5:00 AM to 10:30 PM and works well for early morning or evening play. East Anaheim Gymnasium is useful for city league players and scheduled older adult sessions, not general unscheduled court use.
